1. Ignition timing: This is the most important ECU performance parameter. It refers to the ignition advance setting of the engine, which controls the ignition timing before the engine piston reaches TDC. Early timing will cause the fuel to burn faster and generate more pressure in the cylinder, while delayed timing will reduce the amount of pressure to ensure efficient engine operation.
2. Fuel injection: This is another important ECU performance parameter, which controls the fuel distribution in the engine cylinder. Inject the best amount of fuel in each cycle to ensure complete combustion of fuel without waste. This improves the overall performance of the engine.
3. Throttle opening: this ECU parameter controls the amount of air entering the engine cylinder when the throttle is opened. By ensuring that the right amount of air enters the cylinder, the best air-fuel ratio can be achieved, thus achieving the best engine performance.
4. Boost pressure: ECU also controls the boost pressure of turbocharger to improve engine efficiency. This pressure determines the air density and is directly related to the power output.
5. Vehicle speed: The vehicle speed is used to adjust the transmission of the engine, allowing the best performance under different driving conditions.
ECU sets are typically designed to be used with a specific type and brand of engine. Generally speaking, they are not usually suitable for a wide range of automotive applications.
